Power Factor can be regarded as a measure of efficiency and has values ranging from 0 to 1, where 1 is 100% efficient. Power factor correction equipment improves this efficiency so that less electrical current is needed to achieve the same result saving up to 25%.

What is Power Factor Correction?

Power Factor Correction (PFC) is a universally accepted method for improving energy efficiency and reducing cost. PFC is recommended for commercial and industrial applications such as factories, industrial plants, offices, hotels, hospitals, supermarkets, water treatment, cold chambers just to name but a few. It works by correcting an inefficient electrical load or supply using microprocessor controlled monitoring that regulates and improves the power factor by automatically switching dedicated high quality capacitors in to circuit to counteract the effects of an inductive load which is produced by all motors, pumps, air conditioning systems, refrigeration and general plant & machinery that use motors in their operation.

How does it work?
It works by correcting an inefficient electrical load or supply using specially designed microprocessor controlled monitoring that regulates and improves the power factor by automatically switching dedicated high quality capacitors in to circuit to counteract the effects of an inductive load which is produced by all motors and transformers. Installing Power Factor Correction systems removes Reactive Power Penalty Charges for inefficient usage of electricity.
What is Voltage Optimisation?
Voltage levels provided by electricity suppliers in 240 volts regions fluctuate between 216v to 253v, above and under their nominal level at which all electrical equipment are typically designed to operate. Higher voltages are commonly the cause of higher energy costs through inefficient operation of electrical devices leading to increased losses and energy waste. A well designed Voltage Optimiser Optimax deals with these voltage variations to deliver an optimized pure sinusoidal voltage of around 220 volts, the optimum level at which electrical equipment will function efficiently. This method is recommended primarily for domestic, residential and some commercial applications.
How Much Can You Save?
Once the system is installed the wasted electricity is reduced immediately and the average savings of up to 25% can be achieved.
How About the installation and safety?
Installation is simple and rather fast and should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Both systems are designed and built in compliance with EU standards and safety regulations and incorporate a number of safety systems to protect from overload and over temperature and include a patented seamless bypass system and in the unlikely event of unforeseen problems the system simply bypasses to maintain the supply awaiting the return to normal save mode.
